Chasing Losses

Possibly the first piece of advice that every gambler ever receives is 'never chase your losses'. Never has a truer word been spoken!

When committing yourself to any endeavour, it's always best that you are aware exactly of what you are getting yourself into in order to attempt to control as many of the factors as possible. With gambling, there is almost always an element for which you have no control - the element of chance.

If we were able to always mentally keep a check-list of factors that we are in control of and the rules governing them, I'm sure many a gambler would be far better off. In the real world however, judgement can become clouded and disillusionment can set in after a series of losses or near misses which can prime a player ready for disaster.

The control elements in roulette are known beforehand, and we as disciplined players must always be mindful of them. We can choose where to play, how much we want to win, how much we’re prepared to lose, how long we want to play for, the type of roulette we want to play, the bets we wish to place and also the value of those bets. The benefits of stringently adhering to pre-determined rules made by no-one but yourself when thinking rationally and with a clear and untarnished mind will keep you clear of disaster. Once you start allowing your very own rules to be broken in the heat of battle, then you will have some serious discussions with yourself when it all goes wrong.

Try using the factors mentioned to develop some rules before going to the casino or playing online. Stick to your game plan and you'll never go too far wrong!
