European Roulette
Why Play European Roulette - there has to be a reason right? Of course there is...the
odds are far better in your favour playing single zero
European Roulette than other forms of roulette. Let's
take a look...
European Roulette has a layout consisting of 37 numbers
in total (0-36) and for a £1 bet Straight Up on a
winning number, the return will be £36 (35/1). The house
edge is 2.7%.
American Roulette has a layout consisting of 38 numbers
in total (0-36 plus 00) and yet for a £1 Straight Up bet
on a winning number, your return will still be £36
(35/1). The house edge is 5.26% - almost DOUBLE that of
European Roulette!
Also be aware of other forms of roulette that are
currently on offer with less numbers on the layout. One
I've seen has nine numbers (0-8) and for a £1 Straight
Up bet, you will receive only £8 (7/1). When you do the
maths, you are nearly FOUR TIMES worse off playing these
games as opposed to European Roulette as the house edge
comes in at a huge 11.1%!
That's why we love European Roulette so much - we have a
much better chance of winning money!
Don't worry, although single zero roulette is commonly
referred to as European Roulette, it's available to
players all over the world. Equally, although double
zero roulette is commonly referred to as American
Roulette, this and other games like it are also
available to players everywhere. So a word of caution:
always be selective in not only the places you play
roulette, but also the types of roulette you play!
